Florist follows an overbearing mother who desperately clings to her ambitious daughter as she battles between sharing the news of a university offer letter or withholding the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
Florist explores the themes of letting go and accepting a new role in a parent-child relationship. While always set in a flower shop, early iterations of Florist explored themes of grief and accepting the past. As the story was refined, Florist became a short film about a mother who must accept how she cares for her daughter must change with time.
Florist was the second film produced under the indie film collective Paradigm Productions in January 2026. This film was shot entirely in a local flower shop, Oops a Daisy! Florist in Norwich, who generously opened their doors to the Paradigm Productions film collective, and shown overwhelming support for our creative pursuit.
